Teachers Prepare for the Future with Artificial Intelligence at CIU
Cyprus International University (CIU) is hosting “Artificial Intelligence Literacy” training for teachers working in public schools as part of an in-service training program organized by the TRNC Ministry of National Education’s Department of Curriculum and Instruction and Department of Educational Common Services, taking place from September 1–11, 2026.
Rapidly developing digital technologies and artificial intelligence applications are bringing about significant transformation in the field of education. In this context, the training program aims to help teachers use artificial intelligence technologies consciously, safely, and responsibly.
The training, delivered by CIU’s expert academics, covers topics including an introduction to artificial intelligence, digital transformation in education, ethical and safe use, and examples of best practices. The program aims to support teachers in adapting to today’s digital transformation, with a particular focus on using artificial intelligence effectively as a tool to support curricula and pedagogical practices.
The second part of the four-hour training focuses on practical activities designed to help teachers create AI-supported lesson plans and learning activities tailored to their respective subject areas.
With the aim of contributing to the education of the future, Cyprus International University continues to support teachers’ professional development by welcoming them to its campus and sharing its academic knowledge and experience with the education community.
CIU wishes all teachers participating in the in-service training program a productive and successful academic year.
