CIU Proudly Bids Farewell to 1,433 Graduates

Continuing to add value to science and society through investments in educational quality, the establishment of research centers, and educating qualified graduates, Cyprus International University (CIU) held the 2024–2025 Academic Year Spring Semester Graduation Ceremony with great enthusiasm. A total of 1433 students at doctoral, master's, and undergraduate levels experienced the excitement of graduation at the ceremony held at the CIU Open Air Performing Arts Center on Wednesday, June 18 at 19:00.

TRNC President Ersin Tatar, President of the Assembly Ziya Öztürkler, CIU Board of Trustees President Mete Boyacı, CIU Rector Prof. Dr. Halil Nadiri, as well as many protocol members, academics, students, and their families attended the ceremony.

In his speech, President Ersin Tatar emphasized CIU’s place in higher education and congratulated the graduates and their families. Tatar touched on the Boyacı family’s contributions to higher education and said the university proudly represents Northern Cyprus with its international successes.

The President of the Assembly, Ziya Öztürkler highlighted CIU’s educational quality and strong academic staff, describing it as one of the country’s leading universities. He noted that the university ranks within the top 600 globally, expressing confidence that this success will continue to grow.
Rector Prof. Dr. Halil Nadiri began his address by thanking the families for entrusting their children to CIU. Addressing the graduates, Nadiri said, “You have the knowledge and skills to overcome the difficulties you will face with the values you acquired at CIU. Continue your connection with your university after graduation, share your successes with us, and may your path be clear.”

Following the opening speeches, graduates from the Faculties of Medicine, Pharmacy, Education, Arts and Sciences, Fine Arts, Design and Architecture, Law, Economics and Administrative Sciences, Communication, Engineering, Health Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, and Technologies, as well as the School of Tourism and Hotel Management, Vocational School, Health Sciences, Vocational School of Health Sciences, Applied Sciences, and Physical Education and Sports, proudly received their diplomas.

At the ceremony that started with the opening speeches, students graduating from the Faculties of Medicine, Pharmacy, Education, Arts and Sciences, Fine Arts, Design and Architecture, Law, Economics and Administrative Sciences, Communication, Engineering, Health Sciences, Agricultural Sciences and Technologies, Tourism and Hotel Management, Vocational School, Health Sciences, Health Professions, Applied Sciences and Physical Education and Sports received their diplomas with great pride.
The ceremony ended with the traditional cap-throwing ceremony accompanied by fireworks.
