CIU Animation Film Competition Concluded

The winners of the Animation Film Competition, organized for the first time this year by Cyprus International University (CIU), have been announced.

A total of seventy (70) works from various countries were submitted to the competition, which was held under the theme “Sustainable Development, Sustainable Life.” The participating works were expected to focus on topics such as climate change, inequality, education, gender equality, and peace within the framework of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals. The works were evaluated by a seven-member jury under three different categories: General Category, Student Category, and Artificial Intelligence-Generated Animation Film Special Award.
In the General Category, Zeynep Sude Yavuz won First Prize with her work “Drip,” Önder Menken received Second Prize with “Game,” and Elif Dokur was awarded Third Prize with “Whisper of the Well.”

In the Student Category, the jury selected Yahya El Mouahhid’s work “Coin” for First Prize, Melihat Özdoğan Ağgül’s work “Hand in Hand” for Second Prize, and Cahide Baykal’s work “Ağaç Sev” for Third Prize.

The Artificial Intelligence-Generated Animation Film Special Award was presented to Esin Ülkü for the work “Tohum.”
The award ceremony will take place on March 6 at the Çevik Uraz Conference Hall of Cyprus International University.
