CIU Accounting and Finance Program Receives ACCA Accreditation

The Accounting and Finance Program at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of Cyprus International University (CIU) has been accredited by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) for a period of four years. ACCA, which bases its standards on international professional standards in the fields of accounting and finance, evaluates university curricula and grants examination exemptions to programs that meet its requirements.

With this accreditation, it has been officially confirmed that the curriculum of CIU’s Accounting and Finance Program is aligned with international standards in financial reporting, auditing, anmanagement accounting. As a result of the exemptions, students will be able to complete certain stages of the ACCA professional qualification process as part of their undergraduate education.

The ACCA qualification is recognized in more than 180 countries worldwide. Following the examinations from which they are exempt, CIU graduates will be able to continue the process toward obtaining the professional designation. By the time of graduation, students will have completed part of an internationally recognized professional qualification process.

The ACCA accreditation, which will remain valid for four years, will cover the professional qualification processes of CIU Accounting and Finance Program students in the fields of international finance, accounting, and auditing.
Commenting on the accreditation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kemal Çek, Head of the Department of Accounting and Finance at CIU, said: “This accreditation, which is the only one of its kind in Northern Cyprus, is an important indicator of the quality of our university’s education and its alignment with international standards. The four examination exemptions provided under the ACCA framework offer our students a significant advantage in the professional qualification process. At the same time, they will contribute to our graduates’ careers in the international auditing and finance sectors.”
